DESCRIPTION:Luhmann Conference 2025: Programmes. Observed with social systems theory \nThe Luhmann Conference 2025 explores programmes as architectures of code in both social systems and digital transformations. Rooted in Niklas Luhmann’s systems theory\, the theme examines how programmes shape decision-making\, structural orders\, and social differentiation—from centre-periphery dynamics to digital governance. As guiding distinctions between inclusion and exclusion\, analogue and digital\, or function and ideology\, programmes mediate interactions across organisations\, society\, and emerging AI-driven technologies. \nThis year’s conference invites contributions that investigate the historical\, theoretical\, and contemporary implications of programmes. Topics include function system interfaces\, digital transformation of theories\, global perspectives\, programmatic hierarchies\, and interventionist applications in politics\, health\, and education. Researchers from all paradigms are welcome to engage with social systems theory and explore how it may be expanded\, refined\, or challenged in light of today’s evolving digital society.
